What do I need before I start?

What units will I complete?
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:
- 16 units of competency
- 5 core units
- 11 elective units.
Electives are to be chosen as follows:
- all 8 units in Group A plus 3 units from any other group not already selected, or
- all 7 units in Group B plus 4 units from any other group not already selected
- up to 1 unit may be selected from any Training Package, as long as it contributes to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome and maintains the AQF level of this qualification.

To apply for a private investigator licence# in NSW, you must satisfy other general suitability and criminal history criteria. The cost of this licence is NOT included in course fees.

SECURITY RISK ANALYSIS COURSE

- CPP40707 Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management, or
- CPP41519 Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis

CPR SHORT COURSE
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
This standalone unit has been designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to provide initial life support through CPR.
Participants must have a basic grasp of English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.

Prior to attending the in-person workshop (approximate duration of 1 – 2 hours), it is necessary to successfully complete the online learning modules and assessments (allow approximately 8 hours to complete this component) provided as part of this course.
Students enrolling in this course must also meet the physical requirements to respond to first aid emergencies, such as administering CPR. During your training and assessment, you will be required to simulate this process on a manikin on the floor.
In accordance with Australian law and the guidelines set forth by the Australian Resuscitation Council(ARC), individuals with disabilities or those who use a wheelchair or have other mobility needs that may impact their participation in these activities are encouraged to contact us to discuss their specific needs and accommodations for reasonable adjustment before enrolling.

The ARC recommends renewal of CPR skills every 12 months (1 year).
